Town of Gibsonville Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 10.

As the town continues to grow, traffic increases and parking becomes more of an issue.

To avoid a citation, please be mindful and obedient of parking laws and ordinances.

* Parking a vehicle on any state maintained road is illegal

* Parking on the opposite side of the road against the flow of traffic is illegal (including neighborhood streets)

* Parking in NO PARKING zones is illegal

* Blocking driveways, fire hydrants, handicap ramps, etc., is illegal

* Parking on sidewalks is illegal

* Parking within 30ft upon the approach of a stop sign or stop signal is illegal

While the above is not a complete list, it is some of the more common parking violations.

Let us all do our part and work together to keep our streets safe!
