CITY OF GREENSBORO: Loose Leaf Collection Program

City of Greensboro issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.

This year's Loose Leaf Collection Program will take place from November 7 through January 7, 2023.

Two collection periods are scheduled:

- Leaves that are curbside by November 7 will be picked up by December 22.

- Leaves that are curbside by December 28 will be picked up by January 27.

It's easy to use the loose leaf collection program. Please follow these guidelines:

- Rake leaves to the edge of your yard behind the curb - not in the street, where they obstruct travel and clog storm drains.

- Remove sticks, rocks and other debris that may damage city equipment.

- Do not park vehicles on, in front of, or near leaves.

Leaves are made into compost to fertilize City gardens and landscaped areas. Residents may purchase the compost at the White Street Landfill, 2503 White Street.

The leaf collection schedule may change due to inclement weather. The City doesn't collect loose leaves on private streets.
