City of Burlington issued the following announcement on May 16.
Craig Honeycutt has been selected as the Assistant City Manager of Administrative Services for the City of Burlington.
Honeycutt brings twenty-nine years of local government management experience in North Carolina with cities and counties. He has served at the cities of Fletcher and Laurinburg as well as Alamance and Wayne counties.
Honeycutt holds an undergraduate degree in Public Administration from UNC Pembroke and a Master of Public Administration from Western Carolina University. He also has held the ICMA Credentialed Managers certification from International City/County Management Association since 2001. He also served as the President of the North Carolina City and County Manager's Association in 2016 -2017.
“I have known and worked with Mr. Honeycutt over the years and believe he will bring a vast amount of experience and value to the City of Burlington. He served seven years in Alamance County, so he brings historical knowledge paired with new perspectives into this organization, that is a great combination. Burlington is positioned for economic growth and excellence. Honeycutt will be a great addition to the team to keep us in the right direction,” stated Interim City Manager David Cheek.
Honeycutt has been married to his wife, Amber Honeycutt for 26 years. They have three boys ages 20, 23 and 24 who are all graduates of Western Alamance High School.
Mr. Honeycutt stated, "I appreciate the opportunity to come work back to work for a community that I know extremely well and have always greatly respected. I am excited about this new opportunity and position and am ready to get to work for the citizens of Burlington."
Honeycutt will begin at the City of Burlington on July 5, 2022.
