City of Burlington issued the following announcement on May 2.
The Burlington Police Department recently completed an assessment center for several administrative openings for prospective candidates. This competitive and challenging process resulted in the agency selecting Alan Balog as its' newest Assistant Chief of Police. On April 30, 2022, Assistant Chief Balog began his command over the Operations Bureau. He brings seventeen years of progressive law enforcement experience, including operational and supervisory roles. In addition, his educational background includes a Bachelor's and Master's Degrees and several Law Enforcement Management Program Certificates.
"I am excited to begin working with Burlington native Assistant Chief Balog in his new role. His prior experiences, strong relationships fostered, and respect within our community provide the department great momentum for the future," said Chief of Police Brian Long.
