North Carolina state Rep. John Faircloth (R-High Point) is running for his second term representing House District 62 in the General Assembly, his fifth term overall.
Faircloth previously served in the state House of Representatives since 2011, serving Guilford County as the representative for House District 61, but had to run for reelection in District 62 in 2018 due to redistricting, according to Ballotpedia.
Faircloth received bachelor’s degrees in management from Guilford College before going on to achieve a master's in public affairs at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, according to Ballotpedia. A veteran, Faircloth went on to serve in the Army from 1957 through 1969.
He began his career in public service as the chief of the Greensboro Police Department, a post he held from 1975 through 1992, according to Ballotpedia. He then went on to become the owner of Coldwell Banker Triad from 1994 through 2003.
