Registration for online training provided through GuilfordWorks to Greensboro area residents has been extended until the end of October.
“With the extended registration deadline, we can support more of our community members to build pathways towards meaningful employment,” Anthony Rogers, GuilfordWorks Strategic Initiatives coordinator, said in a Greensboro city release on Sept. 18.
Guilfordworks partnered with Coursera in June to provide access to the online learning platform’s more than 3,000 courses to unemployed or furloughed workers without any cost to those taking the courses, the city release said.
“GuilfordWorks wants to equip job seekers with the necessary skills to thrive in today’s rapidly changing and competitive business environment by developing new skills to match opportunities in high demand,” the release states.
Those interested in the free online courses can register on the city’s website, according to the release. They will then receive an email directing them to log in and begin selecting courses.
