Guildford County has seen more homes sold this July than any month in the past 14 years.
In July 2020, there were 825 homes sold in the county, the alternative news website Yes! Weekly reported on Aug. 10. The last time that at least that many homes were sold was before The Great Recession. In 2006, there were 930 home sale transactions, Yes! Weekly reported.
“Like the 90-degree weather, now is hotter than ever to buy and sell homes,” Greensboro Regional Realtors Association President Ray Alexander told Yes! Weekly. “If you’re a seller, you need to get in the market.”
Alexander told Yes! Weekly between the need to stay at home and a record low-interest rates, more people are buying homes. The county has seen an increase in homes sold since July 2010 when only 341 homes were sold.
Not only are sales increasing, but sellers are getting the most out of their transactions, Yes! Weekly reported. On average, sellers get 99.3% of their listing price.
Not only are sales increasing, but realtors are now back to work after Gov. Roy Cooper has said real estate is an essential business.
“We are here for you and are continuing to go above and beyond to follow the CDC guidelines. Safety is paramount when we list and sell homes,” Alexander told Yes! Weekly. “We are still at work today to help you in your buying and selling needs.”
