Rep. Clark files public safety funding bill in North Carolina House

A new bill filed by State Rep. Tracy Clark in the North Carolina House seeks to provide funding for public safety enhancements in Greensboro, according to the North Carolina State House.

The bill, filed as HB 749 on April 2 during the 2025 regular session, was formally listed with the short title: ‘Greensboro Public Safety Funds.’

In essence, the bill allocates $9.818 million in one-time funds from the General Fund to the City of Greensboro for public safety improvements during the 2025-26 fiscal year. Specifically, $9 million is designated for constructing a new fire station to serve the northern area of Piedmont Triad International Airport. Additionally, $818,000 is appropriated for relocating, enhancing, and operating the Police Department’s Real Time Intelligence Center. This act is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2025.
