COUNTY OF GUILFORD: December 5-9, 2022 is Cancer Screen Week

0Comments

County of Guilford issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.

December 5-9, 2022 is Cancer Screen Week.

In 2022, more than 1.9 million Americans were expected to be diagnosed with cancer – and early detection remains our best bet for treatment.

Screening increases the chance of finding certain cancers at an early stage.

Detecting cancer early through screening reduces deaths from colorectal, breast, cervical, lung (among current and former heavy smokers), and likely prostate cancers.
