City of Greenboro issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.

Guilford Metro 911’s training curriculum has received Agency Training Program Certification from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International.

This certification is valid for three years. To receive the reaccreditation, GM 911 was evaluated to ensure it provides trainees with both the required content and focuses on the demonstration of decision and psychomotor skills.

“As first responders, it is critical that our staff has the absolute best training possible and receives continuing education,” said Melanie Jones, director of GM 911. “This demonstrates our commitment to all Guilford County residents and our own first responders.”

GM 911 will be recognized at APCO’s 89th Annual Conference and Expo in Nashville, TN, in August 2023.
